Home, home on the bay

Where the elk and the harbor seals play

Where seldom is heard, a discouraging word,

and the skies may be foggy all day

Home, home at the shack

Where you eat, play music and slack

Take Zuma to sea

and hope there will be

Enough wind to blow your ass back!

Home, home at the shack

Where the tides either rage or are slack

We'll save some poor bloke

With the mighty shrimp boat

And hope the favors returned back.

Home, home on the bay

Where the cod and the halibut play

Where we change Ethan's luck

By him catching a duck

But for Razz, well he'll just have to wait

Home home at the Marriott

Where the nightlife is always hot

The dinner bell's ringin'

Then the Calypso band's swingin'

Their coconut bottoms and tops

Seawall living is great for your health

A life of real friends and true wealth

But to feel like a King

In the hot spring

You have to dig it yourself!

Where winds up! is heard, those are sailing words,

Ill see the Coast Guard a bit later today.

When surfs up! is heard, those are encouraging words,

Several seasons with their treasons,

Saint Stephen will remain,

All he's lost he shall regain,

Seashore washed by the suds and foam,

Been here so long, he's got to calling it home.

Spinnin' that curious sense of your own.

Dim All the Lights by Donna Summer

She originally wrote it for Rod Stewart! Nice version here. Sounds good with all barres. Can conceivably play the D/C# as an F#m, but that loses a lot of flavor. Lots of bass movement here.

Stand by Me by Ben E. King

Nice to do it slow and mellow, like the voice note. Ben did it in A, but I like it in E and sparse, like voice memo.

Melody starts on the 3rd. [3rd] When [5th] the [6th] night

Whole song is I - vi - IV - V. I like it in E. Play the E as 076xxx, sounds nice.

E C#m

When the night has come, and the land is dark

A B E

And the moon is the only light we'll see

No I won't be afraid, oh I wont be afraid

Just as long as you stand, stand by me

So darling, darling, stand by me, oh stand by me

Oh stand, stand by me, stand by me

If the sky that we look upon, should tumble and fall

All the mountains should crumble to the sea

I won't cry, I won't cry, no, I won't shed a tear

Just as long as you stand, stand by me

[Chorus]

[Chorus variation to end:]

So darling, darling, stand by me, oh stand by me

Oh stand now, stand by me, stand by me

Whenever you're in trouble won't you stand by me

Oh stand by me, oh won't you stand now, stand

Stand by me

[Repeat to taste]

Immigrant Song

Nice to do slow and unzeppeliny, like Dread Zeppelin (alternate version), though not necessarily with the reggae beat. Can hear riff here.

Riff: F#m

Ah [C], ah [C#],

E

We come from the land of the ice and snow,

F#m

From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow.

The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,

E F#m

To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!

A B C

On we sweep with threshing oar, our only goal will be the western shore.

F#m (riff)

Ah, ah,

E

We come from the land of the ice and snow,

F#m

From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.

How soft your fields so green, can whisper tales of gore,

E

Of how we calmed the tides of war. We are your overlords.

A B C

On we sweep with threshing oar, our only goal will be the western shore.

[optional:]

So now you'd better stop and rebuild all your ruins,

For peace and trust can win the day despite of all your losing.

Red Solo Cup by Toby Keith

Country party time! Original version, and a great cover

Verse 1:

A

Now, red solo cup is the best receptical

For barbecues, tailgates, fairs, and festivals

Bm7

And you, sir, do not have a pair of testicals

E A

If you prefer drinkin' from glass

A

Hey, red solo cup is cheap and disposable

And in fourteen years, they are decomposable

Bm7

And unlike my home, they are not foreclosable

E A

Freddy Mac can kiss my ass [Whoo!]

Chorus:

Bm7 E

Let's have a party, lets have a party

A

I love you, red solo cup, I lift you up

Bm7 E

Verse 2:

Now, I really love that you're easy to stack

But I really hate how you're easy to crack

'Cause when beer runs down the front of my back

Well, that, my friends, is quite yucky

But I have to admit that the ladies get smitten

Admirin' at how sharply my first name is written

On you with a Sharpie when I get to hittin'

on them to help me get lucky

[Chorus]

Verse 3:

Now, I've seen you in blue and I've seen you in yellow

But only you, red, will do for this fellow

'Cause you are the Abbot to my Costello

And you are the Fruit to my Loom

Hey red solo cup, you're more than just plastic

You're more than amazing, you're more than fantastic

And believe me that Im not the least bit sarcastic

When I look at you and say

Chorus, modulate up a step:

Down on the Corner by Creedence Clearwater

Album is C I think, but I like it in A. Its the loweset key that the riff still works, too.

A E A

Early in the evenin' just about supper time

E A

Over by the courthouse they're starting to unwind

D [F# note] A

Four kids on the corner trying to bring you up

E A

Willy picks a tune out and he blows it on the harp

[Chorus]

D A E A

Down on the corner, out in the street

D A

Willy and the Poorboys are playin'

E A

Bring a nickel; tap your feet

Rooster hits the washboard and people just got to smile

Blinky, thumps the gut bass and solos for a while

Poorboy twangs the rhythm out on his kalamazoo

Willy goes into a dance and doubles on kazoo. Down on the corner...

You don't need a penny just to hang around

But if you've got a nickel, won't you lay your money down?

Over on the corner there's a happy noise

People come from all around to watch the magic boy

Great recent live version, and the original

Starting note is low B (A string 2nd fret)

Intro and verse pattern is an Em with a E3 - E0 riff. Can play just as E5. Good example here.

Could it be you, could it be you

Situation gets rough, then I start to panic

It's not enough, it's just a habit

Em

I hope you know that this will go down on your permanent record

C

Oh yeah, well don't get so distressed

Em

Did I happen to mention that I'm impressed

[jam off Em. Fun to move the Em up to 4th fret then to 7th. Or A string jam.]

Fly Like an Eagle by Steve Miller Band

Great tutorial here and another super R&B style one here, nice cover here

During strum pattern 1, can play the A5 as 577xxx and the G5 as 377xxx, with two finger barre. Sounds nice and percussive that way.

And can play the Dm7 as x00565. And for the chorus, can do the D with an A bass.

For strum pattern 1, can do a xx777x - xx555x riff after the second tick.

Great alternative way to play the chorus, maybe use an ending?
